Station 1 - 3801 Springbrook Road


Constructed in 2015, Station 1 features expanded apparatus bays designed to accommodate modern fire equipment and trucks.  

Station 2 - 8044 88th Avenue

Originally established in a former potato barn in 1935, Station 2 has evolved alongside the community.  The current station was built in 1974 as a Public Safety Building and fully converted into a dedicated fire station in 1999.  Visitors can view historic fire and rescue memorabilia on display inside the station.

Station 3 -10165 Terwall Terrace

Constructed in 2024, Station 3 was built to cover our growing community and assist in protecting our citizens as identified by our Chiefs, Village Administration, and Board of Trustees.  This station was designed to to same specifications as Station 1 with the addition of a larger training room and administrative offices.  

Department History


1935 - After a destructive house fire, residents petitioned to form the Pleasant Prairie Volunteer Fire Department.

August 22, 1935 - The Department became operational with its first pumper truck.

Early Staffing - 68 volunteers and one full-time driver supported by family and community members.

Fire & Rescue Services

First Fire Call - September 25, 2035, haystack fire on Cooper Road.

First House Fire - November 12, 1935, Bentz Road.

Rescue Squad & EMS

1978 - Formal rescue services began following EMS standards.

1985-1986 - Selected by the State of Wisconsin to pilot EMT defibrillation and IV therapy programs.

1991 - Pleasant Prairie became the smallest community in Wisconsin to provide paramedic-level service, bringing advanced emergency care directly to residents.  

Modern Equipment & Response

Strategic vehicle replacement continues since the 1980's to provide modern fire apparatus designed to meet the changing needs of our growing community, including a 104-foot aerial ladder truck, a 107-foot aerial platform, a Heavy Rescue Squad, and upgraded Fire Engines.
