About PPPD

The Pleasant Prairie Police Department is a modern, professional law enforcement agency. Currently the department has 40 sworn law enforcement positions which include the Chief and Captains of Police. We are headquartered at 10111 39th Avenue in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.

The department deploys three primary patrol shifts daily. Each shift has two Sergeants assigned to function as a shift supervisor. With second shift being the busiest of all three shifts, there is also a Patrol Lieutenant assigned to second shift. All supervisors of patrol report to the Captain of Patrol.   In addition to the three primary shifts, the department deploys two canine units.

The Investigative Bureau is commanded by a Detective Sergeant who supervises the Bureau's four detectives and one Digital Forensics Officer. The Investigative Bureau also operates a Patrol Investigator Program wherein officers can work in the detective bureau for one year to gain experience in investigations.

The department currently utilizes both marked & unmarked vehicles, including Ford Explorers, Chevy Tahoes and one Harley-Davidson police motorcycle.

In addition to the sworn staff, the department employs fourteen non-sworn clerical and dispatch personnel. Dispatch personnel provide emergency and non-emergency communications services to the police, fire, and emergency medical services.

New in 2026, the department welcomed a full-time Social Worker who will act as a co-responder to assist officers & detectives with cases and situations that involve mental health.

The department also believes that professional development should be required throughout the career of law enforcement professionals. Professional development programs should provide opportunities for our members to gain and improve the knowledge and skills important to their positions and job performance. In turn, members use their newly developed skills and knowledge, thereby increasing their contributions to the community they serve and protect.

On-going training and development also prepare members for future leadership positions within the agency.

To facilitate the delivery of quality law enforcement services, the department maintains personnel trained in the following specialty areas:
  • Accident Investigation and Reconstruction
